Brothers into Action

 

 With their newfound superpowers, Micah’s brothers (Matthew and Christopher) help Micah save the day on a regular basis. Angered about a recent defeat, Trekker plans his next move in his jail cell while saying, “Blast that Micah and his brothers. I vow revenge!” A knock sounds at Trekker’s cell gate, followed by a guard saying, “Keep it down in there!”

“Ah, shut it, you broken bolt! I’m having a moment here!” responded Trekker angrily. The guard scoffs and walks away while Trekker says, “Now, where was I? Oh yes! Brace yourself, Micah. I’m coming for you, and I’ve got big plans for your brothers! Ha ha ha ha!” After another day saved, Micah and his brothers revert back to normal with Matthew saying, “This hero business is a lot of work. I don’t know how you do it, Micah.”

“You get used to it after a while. It may not be all fun and games in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you start to enjoy the ride.” responded Micah.

“I’m having fun with it already.” replied Christopher.

“That’s the spirit!” said Micah. Micah and his brothers make their way home while Trekker plans his escape from jail, waiting until nighttime to take action by digging a hole in his cell and covering it with a rug. After emerging outside, Trekker makes a run for it back to his mansion while Trekker Jr. lies miserably in his bed. Trekker Jr. suddenly hears the mansion doors open and close, subsequently jumping out of bed to investigate. He sees Trekker standing at the doors and races over to him while saying, “Dad! You’re home!”

“Yes I am, son. It’s so good to see you!” responds Trekker while embracing Trekker Jr.

“I have a plan…” continues Trekker while subsequently whispering into Trekker Jr.’s ear. Trekker Jr. listens to Trekker’s plan with a malicious smile on his face while Micah and his brothers turn in for the night. The next morning, Matthew awakens cuffed on Trekker’s concrete slab, struggling to break free while Trekker and Trekker Jr. approaches.

“Matthew! Christopher! Welcome to my mansion! Wait…where’s Christopher?” asked Trekker.

“Uh, about that…” responded Trekker Jr.

“You were supposed to get both brothers!” said Trekker angrily.

“I’m sorry! Your transport thingy stopped working.” responds Trekker Jr. while showing Trekker’s Teleport Remote. After observing the damaged remote, Trekker tosses it aside while angrily saying, “What a piece of junk. Oh well. Might as well move forward with what I’ve got.”

“Don’t waste your time, Trekker. You know your plans always fail.” said Matthew angrily.

“Not this time. Being in jail allowed me to come up with some smarter moves. You’ll see.” responded Trekker. Micah works in his laboratory with Christopher entering and asking, “Micah, have you seen Matthew? I can’t find him anywhere.”

“Computer…” said Micah. Trekker suddenly appears on screen while saying, “Ah! Micah! Christopher! You’re just in time to see what I have in store for you.” Trekker views Matthew with Christopher exclaiming, “No! You can’t do this, Trekker!”

“Oh, I can. And I will!” responded Trekker.

“Aren’t you forgetting something, Trekker?” asked Micah angrily.

“What, may I ask, is that?” asked Trekker menacingly.

“I’m always one step ahead of you.” answers Micah while pulling out his Power Micah Mask. Trekker presses a button off-screen with Micah and Christopher abruptly vanishing and appearing in an amusement park. Micah hears his Micah Phone ring and answers the call with Trekker appearing onscreen saying, “Ha! Who’s one step ahead now? If you want your brother back so badly, you’ll have to endure pain and misery like I did after you defeated me!”

“Spare the rod, spoil the child.” responded Micah angrily.

“Real cute. Have fun in my worlds! Ha ha ha ha!” laughs Trekker while subsequently ending the call. Christopher observes his surroundings while asking, “What kind of place is this?”

“Some world Trekker created himself. They’re usually crawling with monsters. I must warn you, though…” said Micah.

“This should be a piece of cake!” says Christopher while feeling around in his pockets.

“Where’s my Fantom Hat?” asked Christopher.

“That’s what I wanted to tell you. Trekker typically designs these worlds to either confiscate our powers or render them useless. They do slip through sometimes, but whether or not this is one of them is anyone’s guess.” responded Micah.

“So we’re stuck here?” asked Christopher worriedly.

“Not exactly. There’s usually a way out. We just have to find it.” answers Micah while walking off. Christopher catches up to Micah and asks, “What are you doing, Micah?”

“What we’re supposed to do. Finding a way out. We’re not going to make any progress just by standing around doing nothing, you know.” answered Micah.

“And we have to do all this without using our superpowers?” asked Christopher.

“I’m afraid so.” answered Micah.

“What are we going to do?” asked Christopher worriedly.

“The only thing we can do: rely on our wits.” answered Micah. After walking for some time, Micah and Christopher encounter monsters that are ready to attack with a fight breaking out.

“Christopher! Fight back! It’s the only way to ward them off!” said Micah.

“But I can’t do it without my Fantom powers!” responded Christopher.

“Yes you can! And you must! You don’t need superpowers to achieve greatness.” replied Micah.

“Ok. Here goes.” says Christopher while closing his eyes. Christopher throws a punch that inadvertently comes into contact with a monster’s face, rendering it unconscious and boosting Christopher’s confidence. After looking at his fists, Christopher presents them to the other monsters while taunting, “You want some of this?” The monsters flee from Christopher, who joins Micah afterwards to help ward off the rest. With all monsters out of sight, a warp hole appears in front of Micah and Christopher with Christopher asking, “What’s that?”

“It’s a warp hole! That should be the way out!” answers Micah while jumping into it with Christopher following. Micah and Christopher appear in a mine with Christopher asking, “Now what?”

“Another world.” answered Micah. A pickaxe suddenly appears in front of Micah and Christopher with a manly voice asking, “Hey! What are you kids doing here? This is a restricted area! Authorized personnel only!”

“We’re sorry, sir. We don’t mean to intrude…” responds Micah while looking up at the source, revealing itself to be a male mine worker.

“We came here by accident.” said Christopher.

“I think you two need to see the boss.” says the man while dragging Micah and Christopher away.

“Is this really necessary?” asked Micah annoyingly.

“Quite necessary.” answers the man while approaching his boss.

“What do we have here?” asked the boss.

“A couple of trespassers.” answered the man.

“We’re not trespassing. Honest. We’re on a mission to save our brother, Matthew. He’s being held captive at Trekker’s mansion.” said Micah.

“Did you say…Trekker?” asked the boss.

“Yeah. Why?” asked Christopher.

“An enemy of Trekker is an enemy of mine. Time to rumble!” answers the boss while getting up out of his seat.

“Can’t we talk about this?” asked Micah.

“Where’s the fun in that?” asked the boss. The boss grabs and drags Micah and Christopher to an arena while workers gather round.

“Let the battle begin!” hollered a worker stepping in as the referee. The boss charges after Micah and Christopher with Micah saying, “Just like the monsters, we’re going to have to fight this rusty bolt back.”

“But he’ll kill us! Look at how big he is!” responded Christopher worriedly.

“And we were outnumbered in the last world. Did that stop us?” asked Micah.

“No, but this time’s different.” answered Christopher worriedly.

“Trust your wits, like I said. Remember, brain beats brawn.” says Micah while standing his ground. With the boss inches away from him, Micah jumps and front flips over him, causing the boss to run into some of the boxing ring ropes and bounce back, stunning him.

“Now’s your chance to make a move.” said Micah. Christopher grabs a nearby chair and hits the boss on the head with it from behind, knocking the boss unconscious with the referee counting down to ten. The boss fails to rise within the countdown with the referee declaring Micah and Christopher the winners while saying, “Winners by KO! The kids!” The crowd boos for Micah and Christopher while the boss vanishes and leaves behind a warp hole.

“They’re not cheering at all! They hate us!” said Christopher.

“Who cares? It’s not like we’re moving here. Besides, there’s our ticket out of here.” responds Micah while pointing out the warp hole. Micah and Christopher enter the warp hole while workers throw tomatoes and other junk at them, subsequently appearing in a factory.

“This could be dangerous.” says Micah while walking off with Christopher following. As Micah and Christopher look for a way out, they suddenly bump into Micah’s 3^rd grade teacher, Mrs. Dohner.

“Oh! Hi, Micah! What a surprise!” said Mrs. Dohner.

“Mrs. Dohner? How’d you get here?” asked Micah.

“Trekker.” answered Mrs. Dohner.

“Imagine that.” said Christopher.

“Is that how you and Christopher got here, too?” asked Mrs. Dohner.

“Unfortunately.” answered Micah.

“Maybe we can look for a way out together. Mind if I tag along?” asked Mrs. Dohner.

“I don’t see a problem with that. Christopher and I are on a mission to save our brother, Matthew. He’s being held captive at Trekker’s mansion. Are you ok with this, Christopher?” asks Micah while turning his attention to Christopher.

“Might as well be killing two birds with one stone.” responded Christopher.

“Then it’s settled. She’s coming with us.” says Micah while walking off with Christopher and Mrs. Dohner following. As Micah, Christopher, and Mrs. Dohner observe their surroundings, monsters emerge from darkness and grab Mrs. Dohner with one of them covering her mouth. Mrs. Dohner secretly gets dragged away by the monsters while Micah and Christopher continue walking on, oblivious to Mrs. Dohner’s absence.

“If I’m not mistaken, Mrs. Dohner, you must have been here longer than Christopher and I have. You wouldn’t happen to…” says Micah while looking back behind him.

“Where’s Mrs. Dohner? She was just here.” asks Micah while looking around. Christopher suddenly hears distant mumbling and draws his attention to it, finding Mrs. Dohner getting dragged away by the monsters.

“There she is!” says Christopher while pointing Mrs. Dohner out. Micah draws his attention to the direction being pointed out by Christopher and sees Mrs. Dohner getting tied up above a vat of toxic waste.

“Oh no you don’t!” says Micah angrily while running towards the monsters with Christopher following. The monsters block Micah’s and Christopher’s path and begin attacking them with Micah and Christopher struggling to fight them off.

“You rusty bolts picked the wrong kids to mess with! Face our wrath!” says Micah while throwing a punch at one of the monsters. The monster dodges Micah’s punch and counters it by punching Micah in the face, knocking him to the ground with his Power Micah Mask flying out of his pocket.

“Sweet! My Power Micah Mask!” says Micah while picking up his Power Micah Mask.

“I thought you said our powers didn’t work in these worlds.” said Christopher.

“I did, but I also said they slip through every now and then. Well, here goes nothing.” responds Micah while putting on his Power Micah Mask. Micah turns into Power Micah and begins fighting off the monsters with the upper hand while saying, “Christopher, check your pockets! You might be able to turn into Fantom!” Christopher reaches into one of his pockets, and (to his surprise) pulls out his Fantom Hat, placing it on his head and powering up into Fantom.

“Awesome! Looks like Trekker needs to make a few changes around here.” said Christopher. Christopher helps Micah fight off the monsters while the small amount remaining gradually lowers Mrs. Dohner into the vat of toxic waste with Micah flying up and rescuing her. Christopher wards off the monsters as Micah places Mrs. Dohner safely on the ground.

“Thanks, you guys! I thought I was done for!” said Mrs. Dohner.

“We humans got to look after each other.” responded Micah. The warp hole appears with Christopher pointing it out and saying, “Look! The warp hole!” Micah points out the warp hole to Mrs. Dohner while saying, “You first.”

“Are you sure? I’d hate to leave you two behind.” asked Mrs. Dohner.

“Positive. Our journey isn’t over yet, but yours is.” answered Micah.

“Please. We insist.” said Christopher. Mrs. Dohner approaches the warp hole and looks back at Micah and Christopher while subsequently saying, “Good luck, you two. Please be careful.”

“Don’t sweat it. I’m no stranger to adventures like this.” responded Micah.

“You know? I think I’m starting to enjoy the ride.” said Christopher. Mrs. Dohner smiles and enters the warp hole, appearing back at her home while Micah and Christopher enter the warp hole and appear at Trekker’s mansion.

“What the!? How are you two powered up?!” asked Trekker angrily.

“You really need to be more detail-oriented.” taunted Micah. A beam suddenly comes into contact with Micah and Christopher, reverting them back to normal with Micah, Christopher, and Trekker drawing their attention to the source, which reveals to be Trekker Jr. holding a ray gun with steam expelling from the nozzle.

“How’s that for being detail-oriented?” taunted Trekker Jr.

“No matter. I still got other powers in my…huh?” exclaims Micah while feeling around in his pockets.

“Looking for these?” asks Trekker Jr. while holding up the rest of Micah’s powers.

“How did you…?” asked Micah.

“This ray gun was built and programmed to confiscate any powerup used to gain the upper hand.” answered Trekker Jr.

“Oh, great!” exclaimed Christopher.

“Remember what I told you before, Christopher? We don’t need them to save lives.” responded Micah.

“Easy for you to say. You deal with these clowns all the time.” replied Christopher worriedly.

“Who are you calling a clown?” asks Trekker angrily while leaning towards Christopher.

“Don’t you lay a finger on him!” said Micah angrily.

“Or what?” asked Trekker annoyingly.

“You’ll be one sorry monster.” answered Micah.

“We’ll see about that!” responds Trekker while grabbing Christopher.

“I warned you!” says Micah while running after Trekker. Trekker Jr. quickly grabs and detains Micah, who elbows Trekker Jr. in the gut and goes after Trekker again, jumping and front flipping over him while grabbing his head and swinging him over and down onto the ground. Christopher breaks free from Trekker’s grip while Trekker and Trekker Jr. surround Micah and Christopher.

“You broken bolts need to be taught a lesson!” says Trekker angrily while cracking his knuckles.

“If anyone here needs to be taught a lesson, it’s you, you rusty bolt!” responded Micah angrily.

“Have it your way!” replies Trekker while throwing a punch. Micah jumps out of the way with Christopher grabbing Trekker’s fist and throwing him towards Trekker Jr., knocking them both down onto the ground.

“Nice move.” said Micah.

“I’ve learned so much from you, after the adventure we had together.” responded Christopher. Trekker and Trekker Jr. get up off the ground and walk towards Micah and Christopher with Trekker grabbing and picking up Micah by the neck.

“You’ve pushed my buttons for the last time! Time to…!” says Trekker angrily while showing his claws.

“Freeze!” said a voice. Micah, Christopher, Trekker, and Trekker Jr. draw their attention to the source, which reveals to be a police squad with their guns drawn.

“Put the child down!” said the sergeant.

“Make me!” responded Trekker. One officer pulls out a taser and fires it at Trekker, electrocuting and causing him to release his grip on Micah, who makes a run for it while the police squad apprehends Trekker.

“Trekker, you’re under arrest for escaping.” said the sergeant. The sergeant escorts Trekker to a cruiser while other officers apprehend and escort Trekker Jr. to some other cruisers. Micah and Christopher watch as Trekker and Trekker Jr. get hauled away with Micah asking, “How did you guys find out about this?”

“It was all over the news.” said the sergeant.

“What was?” asked Christopher.

“Trekker’s escape. Don’t you two watch TV or read the paper?” asked the sergeant.

“Yes, but not this time, as we were too busy trying to rescue our brother.” answers Micah while pointing out Matthew. The sergeant draws his attention to Matthew and back to Trekker while saying, “Well, looks like we’ll be adding kidnapping to the charges. Take care, you two.” The sergeant parts ways with the rest of the squad while Micah and Christopher free Matthew from Trekker’s concrete slab.

“You all right, Matthew?” asked Christopher.

“I am now. You guys must have been through a lot.” answered Matthew.

“It was quite an experience for Christopher. As for me, just another adventure come and gone.” responded Micah.

“Well, anyway, thanks for saving me, guys.” said Matthew.

“Don’t mention it. You were in trouble, so we had to act quickly.” responded Micah.

“I hate to break up the reunion, but can we go home already?” asked Christopher.

“Ok, ok. You’ve made your point, Christopher. Matthew, we’ll just tell you about it along the way.” responds Micah while leading Matthew and Christopher to Trekker’s Warp Machine. Micah and Christopher talk about their adventure with Matthew while Trekker and Trekker Jr. get booked into their jail cell.

“Now stay!” says the guard while walking away. Trekker angrily sits in a corner with his arms folded while grumbling, “Foiled again!”

“Look on the bright side. At least we’re together.” said Trekker Jr.

“I suppose every cloud has a silver lining.” responded Trekker angrily.

“So, what do we do now?” asked Trekker Jr.

“The same thing we always do. Plan our next move on Micah.” answers Trekker while contemplating with Trekker Jr. joining in. After his adventure with Micah, Christopher starts to see more enjoyment out of taking on missions and encountering challenges, with and without his Fantom powers while continuing to work alongside Micah and Matthew to keep the world safe from harm.
